Challenge

Building on the impact of the original 85-meter LED wall, Edinburgh Airport sought to:

• Expand the visual experience to support new self-service systems in the modernised check-in Zone A.
• Introduce immersive digital wayfinding in key transitional areas like Duty-Free.
• Maintain design continuity while scaling up across a complex and high-traffic environment.
• Deliver clear, real-time flight information at strategic touchpoints throughout the terminal.

All upgrades needed to retain the airport’s sleek aesthetic while operating reliably in a 24/7 environment.

Solution

NuVideo delivered a bespoke AV expansion that reinforces Edinburgh Airport’s vision for digital-first passenger journeys:

• LED Wall Extension: An additional 23 meters was seamlessly added to the existing 85-meter Absen LED wall—enhancing visual reach and maintaining consistent brightness, resolution, and performance.
• MicroLED Displays in Zone A: Two state-of-the-art MicroLED screens were installed to anchor the new check-in Zone A. These high-resolution displays integrate with self-service check-in systems to guide passengers efficiently and elevate the modern look and feel of the space.
• Curved LED Duty-Free Display: A floor-to-ceiling curved LED wall was designed and installed to lead passengers through the Duty-Free area. This visually striking feature creates an immersive, dynamic entry point that’s both engaging and brand-aligned.
• Flight Info and Wayfinding Display: A further 6×2.5 meter LED display was implemented in a key transitional space, providing essential live flight updates and clear directional signage for smoother passenger flow.
